Elluminate Internal Tutorial
1. Before getting into Elluminate, you should set up all equipments such as a headset and a Webcam. If you set up the equipments after getting into Elluminate, you should restart the computer.
2. It is easiest to use the same computer each week. Leave the headset plugged in all of the time.
3. Do not use the auto tracking function when you use the Webcam. The auto tracking function will make you dizzy.
4. If a student has technical problems, you should look at the Elluminate support website ( http://www.elluminate.com/support-portal/ or http://www.elluminate.com/support/ )
Elluminate has a database that allows you to find resolutions to most problems.
5. Elluminate's Cusomter Care Technicians are available to assist you or students. Call 1-866-388-8674 option 2 . International users can dial 703-464-9158 . However, during a synchronous session, it's probably better for you to help the student.
6. The quickest way to fix many technical problems (e.g., students being kicked out of the system) is to have the student lower their Internet connection speed on Elluminate. For example, if the student is using DSL, they can switch their connection speed to 56K. To do so, go to “Session” > “Connection Speed”
7. The most common microphone problem occurs when the student's microphone is turned up too loud. Moderators can adjust this by clicking the “+” or “-” button next to the “Talk” button. Another microphone problem occurs when the student is too far away from their microphone. It should be close to their mouth.
